Hakan Sabancı spoke for the first time about the separation: "My mother is very upset"

Celebrity couple Hakan Sabancı and Hande Erçel ended their nearly three-year relationship last week. Following the split, the couple also removed each other from social media. While numerous rumors circulated on social media, the most prominent one was that Sabancı had reconnected with Sabancı's ex-girlfriend, model Jocelyn Chew, and that he had cheated on Hande Erçel. However, both Sabancı and Jocelyn Chew have strongly denied these rumors.

The first statement after the breakup came from Hakan Sabancı. The famous businessman said, "I don't want to talk about the breakup. It's our personal matter, but there's no question of cheating."

Speaking to Gazete Magazin cameras, Hakan Sabancı said that he was making a final statement about the separation and added:

"We had a good relationship, but somehow we ended it. We made a mutual decision. Everyone's saying something. This has nothing to do with third parties. The disrespectful things done to my family, especially my mother, upset me. She had to make a statement. Hande and I had a wonderful relationship, and we decided to end it. This has nothing to do with anything else. It's starting to get a little disrespectful. This has nothing to do with third parties or my family. Relationships either continue or they don't. I think it's a decision between two people."
